Proof that you never know where your next big break will come from!
Two weeks ago, I filmed a fox near my house and posted it in my local Facebook group, Willoughby Living. Nothing strategic. No marketing plan. Just a fox doing fox things. And then the video went viral!
From a Local Facebook Group to a Business Feature
The admins contacted me to ask if they could share it on Instagram. I missed their first message on my personal Facebook (because apparently, even life-changing opportunities can get lost in your inbox 😅), so they tracked me down through my Party4Purpose email instead.
And that’s when things took an unexpected turn.
While looking me up, they discovered Party4Purpose and loved the idea. They asked if they could feature my little business on their social media, and the story attracted lots of attention.
And Then Channel 10 Came Calling!
On Monday morning, at 11:30am, a Channel 10 reporter who saw the Willoughby Living post contacted me about featuring Party4Purpose in The Good News with Daniel Doody.
We jumped on a Zoom interview, and just a couple of hours later, Party4Purpose was on Channel 10’s lunchtime news! 🎉
From a neighbourhood fox to national television in two weeks. Not exactly the marketing strategy I had in mind when starting a business!
Sometimes the Best Opportunities Are Unexpected
As a mum and startup founder, you spend so much time figuring out how to get your business noticed. You plan, post, brainstorm and occasionally wonder if anyone is actually listening.
And then a fox comes along and does your PR for you. 🦊
Jokes aside, I’m incredibly proud of this milestone and so grateful to the Willoughby Living team for sharing our story and helping it reach Channel 10.
The lesson? Keep showing up, share your story, support your local community, and check your messages!
You never know where an opportunity might be hiding. Apparently, sometimes it’s behind a fox. 💛
Here’s to unexpected opportunities, small business wins, and our very first (unofficial) furry PR agent!
