What is Party4Purpose?
Party4Purpose (aka P4P) is an Australian social venture that aims to change the way we celebrate our special moments to make them more meaningful and less wasteful.
How does Party4Purpose work?
Party4Purpose involves three main players: the event Host, the Guests, and the Charity. The Host creates an event on the P4P platform, chooses a charity to support, and picks a gift they’d like to save for. A unique event link is generated and shared by the Host with their Guests. Through this link, Guests can RSVP, leave a message, and contribute to both the gift and the charity. Once the Host closes the event, the funds are sent to the Host and the chosen charity.
I like the idea of hosting a Party4Purpose event but I am unsure about asking my guests to contribute online?
It can feel uncomfortable at first to ask for online contributions but the benefits P4P offers your guests are significant and they will appreciate the convenience P4P provides. The ease of RSVPing and donating means guests don’t need to guess what to give, don’t need to run around town to buy something, and they save on a card and wrapping paper too. Your guests will feel good about contributing to charity and get a pleasant surprise to receive a charity tax deductible invoice!
What if I want to host a Party4Purpose event for my child but I don’t think they’re ready to give up on receiving gifts at their party?
Your child will still receive gift(s) that can be purchased with the money collected for the host portion. And if you have the gift(s) bought in advance, you can present them to your child at their party so they can share the excitement with their friends. Party4Purpose celebrations minimise the chances of disappointments for receiving presents that your kid doesn’t like or need. You can also take the opportunity to bring attention to the charity contribution so your child can feel proud about making a difference in the world. For the host
How does a host benefit from having a Party4Purpose event?
Party4Purpose makes hosting easy. Through the event dashboard, the host can track donations and manage the RSVP along with details like dietary requirements, emergency contacts or other individual needs. Hosts also benefit from knowing the gifting process will benefit the environment by reducing the waste of unwanted gifts and provide much needed support to a worthy cause.
Can I use Party4Purpose if I don't have email addresses for my guests?
YES, one of the many benefits of Party4Purpose is that you don’t need to worry about having all your guest emails! Simply set up your event on the Party4Purpose platform and the system will generate a unique “EVENT LINK” that you can copy and send electronically to your guests, e.g. via email, SMS, Whatsapp or other social media groups.
What types of gifts can hosts choose?
The hosts can nominate any kind of gifts on their invite. If unsure, they can opt for a “surprise gift” and they can decide how to use their funds later or at the end of the event. After the event, we always encourage hosts to send a thank you note and attach a picture of their present.
Can the host nominate more than one gift?
We recommend hosts nominate only 1 present on their invite however they do not need to be too specific on the type of gift. For example, for a child’s birthday party, the parent could nominate “crafting supplies” or “football gear”. That way the child could still receive multiple presents that they really value and enjoy
Does Party4Purpose send the nominated gift to the party host?
No, purchasing the gift is the responsibility of the party host. Once the host closes the event, Party4Purpose transfers the gift funds to the host and isn’t responsible for how those funds are used.
Can the host donate all the funds raised at their Party4Purpose event?
Absolutely! Just assign 100% towards the charity portion during the invite set-up
Can the host change their chosen charity and gift percentage?
After the event has gone live (the event link is created) the host cannot change the charity or the contribution percentage. If the host wishes to donate more to the charity, when they receive the funds allocated towards their gift, they can head to the charity’s website and donate there.
For charities
How are charity partners selected ?
Charity partners are all registered charities in Australia, meaning they are listed as Deductible Gift Recipients (DGR) on the ACNC Charity Register. Party4Purpose is open to supporting any registered charities whose mission aligns with Party4Purpose values.
What if the host wish to donate to a charity that is not listed on the Party4Purpose website?
If the host wish to support a charity that is not listed on the Party4Purpose website, they can either contact that charity to apply for a partnership with Party4Purpose or get in touch with us at celebrate@party4purpose.com.au . There is a dedicated link on the Party4Purpose website for charities. The onboarding process is easy and can be completed quickly by an authorised representative of the charity, free of charges.
Do charities enlisted in the P4P platform pay a fee?
Unlike many other fundraising platforms, joining our platform is completely free for charities.
Can the host select more than one charity per event?
No, the host can only support one charity per event.
Is there a minimum percentage for the charity portion?
Yes, the charity portion can’t be less than 20%. The main intent of Party4Purpose is to drive social and enviromental impact through your generous support to our charity partners.
Contributions and fees
How do the guests pay for their contribution?
Payments are accepted using any major credit card. The online payment gateway used by Party4Purpose is Stripe
Are guests required to contribute?
No, it is optional for guests to contribute. Guests can RSVP “Yes” and choose not to contribute or can RSVP “No” and still contribute.
When and how will the host receive the money for their chosen gift?
When the host closes the event on the Host dashboard, the system will trigger the release of the donated funds to the host’s nominated bank account. Allow 5 business days for the funds to arrive in your account.
Can Party4Purpose send a cheque instead of a bank transfer?
No. Party4Purpose is unable to issue cheques. All funds for hosts and charities are processed electronically into Australian bank accounts.
Who receives the charity TAX deductible invoice and how long it takes?
The guest (or the person contributing on their behalf) will receive a tax-deductible invoice for the charity portion, which can be downloaded and saved at the end of the payment process.
How does Party4Purpose ensure transparency with the donations to charity?
Party4Purpose will notify the event host once the donation has been transferred to the charity. Charities are expected to confirm receipt and thank the host via email within 10 days of receiving the funds.
Is there a fee to use Party4Purpose?
There is no fee charged to hosts to use our platform, however we do charge a commission on the amounts donated by the guests so we can cover our costs of providing the service. Please head to our Fees Page for more details.

Is Party4Purpose global?
Party4Purpose is an Australian social venture, supporting listed Australian charities who can issue tax deductible receipts in Australia. Payments can be received from credit cards from any location in the world but hosts must provide an Australian bank account and nominate an Australia based charity.
